European Communication Summit and InspiringPR Gather in Venice to Explore Ethics, AI, and Communication Trends

The historic setting of Piazza San Marco in Venice, Italy became the epicenter of dialogue and innovation in the field of public relations and communication. The European Communication Summit “Technology, Trends & Communication Transformation”, promoted by the Global Alliance European Regional Council. Held at The Home of The Human Safety Net, the international summit explored how artificial intelligence and ethics are reshaping the future of communication.

The summit opened with welcome remarks from Filippo Nani, President of FERPI, and Prof. Justin Green, President & CEO of Global Alliance, who both highlighted the importance of cross-border collaboration in tackling ethical challenges posed by emerging technologies.

Global Alliance Holds In-Person Board Meeting and AGM in Venice

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management convened its in-person Board Meeting and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 15–16 in Venice, Italy. The meetings were followed by the European Communication Summit hosted by Global Alliance European Regional Council and InspiringPR conference, hosted by Ferpi – the Italian Federation of Public Relations.

The gathering brought together 13 Board Members and the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) representing a diverse array of countries, including: Ireland, France, USA, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Peru, Malaysia, Philippines, Brazil, Finland, Portugal, Canada, India and Germany.

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management is proud to announce that Toni Muzi Falconi of Italian Federation of Public Relations (FERPI) will be honoured at the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), hosted by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in partnership with the African Public Relations Association (APRA).

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the global public relations profession, the opening day of WPRF 2026 will be officially named Toni Muzi Falconi Day. A founding member of the Global Alliance and the first chair representing FERPI – the Italian Federation of Public Relations – Falconi has long been a driving force in shaping international public relations dialogue and standards.

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management has received a congratulatory message from the African Public Relations Association (APRA) following the successful election of its new Executive Board.

In the letter addressed to Global Alliance President & CEO, Prof. Justin Green, APRA President Arik Karani extended warm congratulations on behalf of APRA’s Executive Council and entire membership. Mr. Karani commended the Global Alliance for its continued commitment to advancing the global public relations and communication profession.

Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management 23rd Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday 15th May 2025 in Venice, Italy. Global Alliance President Prof. Justin Green presented the 2024 Annual Report, which provided an overview of the key activities and initiatives conducted by the Global Alliance in 2024.

The newly elected board of directors will commence their appointments from 1st July 2025. The incoming board includes leading professionals, academics, training and industry association leaders with representation from every continent. Global Alliance is a truly global, diverse and multicultural organisation representing professionals across all religions, cultures, societies and races.

The European Summit promoted by Global Alliance will take place during the 11th edition of InspiringPR organized by FERPI - Federazione Relazioni Pubbliche Italiana (Italian Federation of Public Relations).

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management continued its global advocacy for Responsible Communication when addressing the European Commission. Prof. Justin Green, President & CEO of the Global Alliance, highlighted the importance of global cooperation in promoting ethical and inclusive communication practices.

The engagement followed a direct request to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and a scheduled meeting with Director-General for Communication, Dana Spinant. The meeting was led by Sophia Eriksson Waterschoot, Deputy Director-General for Communication at the European Commission, and attended by Simona Pilko, Policy Assistant to Director for Political Communication, along with Mateus Furlanetto, Chief Administrative Officer of Global Alliance.
