Global Alliance Board Meeting Held in Bali, Indonesia: Paving the Way Forward

The Board of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management held its in-person meeting on November 18, 2024, in Bali, Indonesia . The session was scheduled ahead of the highly anticipated World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) 2024, co-hosted by Perhumas, the Indonesia Public Relations Association.

The meeting focused on strategic planning to advance the principles of The Lima Mandate, setting a clear path for the organization's initiatives in the coming years. The board discussed several key themes to guide its strategic direction, with emphasis on enhancing membership value and strengthening engagement with global organizations. The discussions also focused on advancing international research and survey projects to generate unique data and insights, sharing best practices and case studies, and advocating for responsible communication practices across the globe.

A priority was placed on promoting ethical guidelines for Artificial Intelligence (AI) among members and international partners, as well as fostering collaboration through networks and leadership meetings involving member associations, universities, and faculties. These themes highlight the Alliance's commitment to driving excellence and collaboration within the public relations and communication profession.

Board members and the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) participated in the meeting, representing 16 countries across the globe: Ireland, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, France, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Portugal, Puerto Rico, South Africa, the United States, and Vietnam.

This significant gathering underscores the Global Alliance's commitment to fostering global collaboration in the profession.
