Global collaboration for mental health and human rights takes centre stage in 2025
The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management proudly announces the first group of member organisations and institutions from around the world that have joined its groundbreaking collaboration with the World Health Organization’s (WHO) QualityRights initiative. This diverse coalition reflects a global commitment to breaking down barriers, confronting stigma, and embedding mental health and human rights at the heart of professional communication practices.
“2025 is the year we move beyond awareness to action,” said Prof Justin Green, President & CEO of Global Alliance. “Our collaboration with WHO’s QualityRights initiative is about creating lasting, systemic change. Mental health is a human right, and as communication professionals, we have the power—and the responsibility—to foster environments where everyone feels supported, valued, and heard.”
This commitment aligns with the Global Alliance’s Snapshot Report on Mental Health and Wellbeing in PR and Communications, which highlights the urgent need for systemic reform within the profession. The report calls for stronger mental health frameworks, supportive workplace cultures, and the elimination of stigma—goals that the QualityRights e-training directly supports.
The WHO QualityRights e-training is available free of charge and is designed for individuals, teams, and organisations looking to:
• Deepen their understanding of mental health and human rights
• Challenge and change stigma in the workplace and beyond
• Develop inclusive communication strategies that promote mental wellbeing
“Every person who registers and completes this training becomes part of a global movement for change,” added Professor Green. “This isn’t just professional development—it’s a personal commitment to building a more compassionate, inclusive, and equitable world.”
