Global Alliance European Regional Council Meeting Held in Kraków, Poland

On Friday, October 4, the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communications’ European Regional Council (ERC) convened in Cracow, Poland. The council members had the opportunity to visit ASTOR, one of Poland’s leading industrial technology companies specializing in robotics.

The visit was followed by the official ERC meeting, during which key topics were discussed, including the formulation of the council’s strategy for Europe in 2025. The meeting provided valuable networking opportunities, as members engaged with Polish PR professionals.

Over 300 delegates from across the region gathered at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) for the East Africa Public Relations Week, a five-day event hosted by the Public Relations Society of Tanzania (PRST). Held from September 23rd to 27th, 2024, the event focused on fostering professional growth and collaboration within the public relations sector across East Africa.
In attendance were prominent PR practitioners, industry leaders, and academics, with discussions centered around the evolving role of public relations in driving sustainable development, corporate communications, and reputation management.

Global Alliance Endorses United Nations' Pact for the Future, Global Digital Compact, and Declaration on Future Generations

In line with its commitment to responsible communications, the Global Alliance endorsed the United Nations' Pact for the Future. This endorsement follows ongoing discussions with the UN regarding responsible communication practices.

Adopted by world leaders, the Pact for the Future encompasses key global initiatives such as the Global Digital Compact and the Declaration on Future Generations. The pact addresses a wide range of pressing global issues, including peace and security, sustainable development, climate action, digital cooperation, human rights, gender equality, youth empowerment, and the transformation of global governance.

The Public Relations Society of Tanzania (PRST) is the umbrella body of all private and public PR professionals, communication specialists, brand managers, mass communication & other related disciplines striving to promote PR excellence in Tanzania. In 2022, PRST with other East African Public Relations Societies (Public Relations Society of Kenya, Public Relations Association of Uganda and South Sudan Society of Public Relations jointly Launched Regional Public Relations Week (EAPRW) as the highest Professional Conference in EAC and Africa at large.

Hosted by Kenya in 2022, Uganda in 2023 and this year EAPRW is hosted by Tanzania (PRST) in partnership with the Public Relations Regional Societies under endorsement of the Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology from 23rd -27th September 2024 at Arusha International Conference Centre.
